actually this post is specially dedicated to my friend WJ aka WJ biao mei.i cant say i am a expert in photography, i dont take lessons and i admit that some of my pictures or maybe 70% of my pictures all "cui" meaning cannot make it.
well, i very much agree that there are more to learn and i dont expect myself to be those professional photographer too.
anyway, lets learn together ok? so below is purely based on my experience on using a PEN or a DSLR.
probably u might want to argue over that a PEN cannot compare with a DSLR. yes, in terms of picture quality, you probably wont be able to achieve pictures taken using a DSLR if you r using a PEN. However, if you are a newbie to photography, and you prefer a less bulky, more intelligence ( meaning u let the system think for u), then u probably want to consider a micro four third
there are many micros four third in the market => panasonic, samsung , pentax and olympus. well, i got myself a PEN so will share with u on PEN lah.
first -> how to do decide the type of camera you want?
i based on the following points
1. quality of pictures
2. type of camera
3. what i want to shoot
4. size of the camera
5. occasion that i will use the camera
for me, my answer to the question is
1. quality of pictures - nearly DSLR standard
2. type of camera - semi dslr or semi pro camera
3. what i want to shoot - all sorts of things, especially when i go out or travel to nearby country. i dont want to bring dslr to msia??? or beach resorts??
4. size of the camera - small and light so i can put into my handbag
ok , with all the factors, i decided to get a micro four third and i got a PEN. why? i tested out many micro four third and i like the intelligent art filter that is built in it. also the photos turn out to be quite good and is quite fun using it.
now. after u select the camera, now is deciding what u want to take right?
things i learn from my past experience is. photography doesn't mean u zoom n zoom n zoom. u need to take pictures that talks to ppl or tell ppl some stories ( this is damm difficult), pictures with gd depth of field.
ok, i will continue on how to use your PEN in the upcoming post. stay tune. =)
