[Recipe] Braised Pork Belly with snow pear

I always wanted to cook dishes with fruits. This is my first time experiment this dish. This is also a recipe that i took from a cooking book but i amended the way of cooking it and change the recipe to my liking. The meat i use longer hours to cook and it is much softer and tender as compared to the original recipe.   Braised Pork Belly with snow pearBraised Pork Belly with snow pear Ingredient 300g of pork belly sliced - Marinate with sugar, light soya sauce and potato starch 6 dried mushroom soaked soft and slice 2 minced garlic some minced ginger ( i do not put in a lot as i do not want the ginger to cover the taste of the meat) 1 snow pear sliced ( it depends on the amount of meat you cook.) Seasoning Oyster sauce to taste Light soya sauce to taste dark soya sauce for colouring Steps
  1. Stirred fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  2. Add in the marinated pork belly and mushroom
  3. Add in sufficient  water to cover the meat and mushroom
  4. Add in the seasoning
  5. Bring this to boil for 50 mins in slow fire
  6. Add in the snow pear and boil for 10 mins. serve when hot
Tips : I use claypot this time for this dish and it taste very good. I was told that use claypot for such dishes, the food taste much better. for example braised meat. the meat will be softer if you use claypot. perhaps claypot can withstand long and slow fire cooking. You can also use normal pot if you want too.
